What kinds of cooling fans are there?

 Axial flow fan
Axial fan is a kind of cooling fan. The blades of an axial fan push air to flow in the same direction as the shaft. The impeller of an axial-flow fan is similar to a propeller. When it works, most of the flow is parallel to the axis, in other words along the axis. When the inlet is free air with zero static pressure, the power consumption of the axial fan is the lowest.During operation, the power consumption will increase with the increase of airflow back pressure.Axial fan is usually installed in the cabinet of electrical equipment, sometimes integrated with the motor.Because of their compact structure, they save a lot of space and are easy to install, so they are widely used.
Its characteristics: high flow, medium wind pressure
Centrifugal fan
When a centrifugal fan works, the blades push air in a direction perpendicular to the axis. The air intake is axial and the air output is perpendicular to the axial direction. In most cases, cooling can be achieved by using an axial fan. However, sometimes centrifugal fans must be used if the airflow needs to be rotated 90 degrees or if greater air pressure is required.Strictly speaking, fans are also centrifugal fans.
Its characteristics: limited flow rate, high wind pressure
Mixed flow fan
Mixed flow fan is also known as oblique flow fan.At first glance, mixed-flow fans are no different from axial flow fans.In fact, the inlet of the mixed-flow fan is along the axis, but the outlet is along the diagonal direction of the axis and the vertical axis.Because the blades and enclosures of this fan are called conical, the wind pressure is higher. For the same size and other comparable performance, the noise of centrifugal fan is lower than that of axial fan.
Its characteristics: high flow rate, relatively high wind pressure
The cross flow fan
A tubular air flow produces a large area of air flow and is usually used to cool large surfaces of equipment.
The fan inlet and outlet are perpendicular to the shaft. The cross-flow fan works with a relatively long barrel fan impeller. The diameter of the barrel fan blade is larger.Due to the larger diameter, the lower speed can be used to reduce the noise caused by high speed operation on the basis of ensuring the whole air circulation
